Dr. Paul Miller was selected for the position of CPER Regional Medical Director in September 2022. Dr. Miller was appointed to Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) in 2006. He is a graduate of McMaster University (MD) and University of Toronto (Master of Health Administration) and advanced leadership training at University of Michigan and Rotman School of Business.
Dr. Miller is an Emergency physician at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) where he also practices Palliative Care. Dr. Miller was Chair of the Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at HHS sitting on the HHS Board of Directors and several of the hospital’s quality of care committees and related physician leadership roles.
In the fields of pre-hospital care, Dr. Miller has been a Base Hospital Physician for 20 years in Hamilton and has been certified in CBRN response and as a Heavy Urban Search and Rescue (HUSAR) physician. He has previously been involved as a planner and medical provider for numerous mass gatherings with local EMS teams from across Ontario.
Dr. Miller has established a reputation as a strong clinician and as a champion of patient safety and paramedic advocacy. We look forward to Dr. Miller’s continued contributions to the EpiDOSE trial, CPER, and provincially as a member of the Ontario Base Hospital Group (OBHG).
